As I have been searching the media for health stories before Christmas, there is once again, story after story, of “bad” news. People hurting each other, controversies, and politics are on every page. I looked in my medical journals and have found nothing compelling. Overall, in the media, I do wish we could see more positive stories to encourage, something to help balance the negatives. When the average person spends up to eight hours in the media a day, all the negative could definitely cause some stress.
At Heartwise, we are all about the positive. We are unique in the healthcare genre’ in that we try to help others find balance, when and how to use modern medicine, how to make lifestyle changes, but most importantly, we try to let others know about the healing that comes from a relationship with our Creator. We try to love and not judge. As I have been searching the media amidst the noise and distractions of the season, I found something positive, something special to share.
A friend shared this poem with me and I want to share this with you, a definite positive.
If you look for me at Christmas
you won’t need a special star.
I’m no longer just in Bethlehem
I’m right there where you are.
You may not be aware of me
amid all the celebrations.
You’ll have to look beyond the stores
and all the decorations.
But if you take a moment
from lists of things to do,
And listen to your heart, you’ll find
I’m waiting there for you.
You’re the one I want to be with.
You’re the reason why I came.
And you’ll find me in the stillness,
as I’m whispering your name.
